# PGP Key Transition Statement (English)

## ABSTRACT

I have recently set up a **new OpenPGP key** ("key10") and will be **transitioning away from my old one** ("key9"). The old "key9" has *NOT* been compromised. The old "key9" expired on Friday, 2024-08-16. However, it was updated and it will continue to be valid until Tuesday, 2024-09-17. I hereby kindly request all future correspondence to come to the new "key10". This message is signed by both keys to certify the transition.

## VERIFICATION

To fetch the full key from a public key server, you can simply do:

```

If you already know my old key, you can now verify that the new key is signed by the old one:

```sh
gpg --check-sigs 701EAFAA
```

If you don't already know my old key, or you just want to be double extra paranoid, you can check the fingerprint against the one above:

gpg --fingerprint 701EAFAA
```
