'abgleich' 0.0.4 released
A ZFS synchronization and backup tool

0.0.4 release of abgleich, a simple ZFS sync tool and pleiszenburg.de open source project. The tools is now available in both German and English. It can furthermore easily be translated into additional languages.

  • BSD
  • Backup
  • Linux
  • Python
  • Python Package
  • Release
  • Unix
  • ZFS

abgleich shows local and remote ZFS dataset trees / zpools. It creates meaningful snapshots only if datasets have actually been changed. It compares a local dataset tree to a remote, backup dataset tree. It pushes backups to remote. It cleanes up older snapshot on local system. Runs from the command line and produces nice, user-friendly, readable, colorized output.

  • FEATURE: Improved labels in wizard GUI
  • FEATURE: Significantly improved German translation
  • FIX: Importing CLoader and CDumper from pyyaml caused crashes if they were not present in pyyaml packages, see #2.
  • FIX: The mountpoint property of ZFS datasets is no longer assumed to be present at all (set or unset). This allows to handle ZVOLs without crashing, see issue #6.
  • FIX: Versions 0.0.2 and 0.0.3 were completely ignoring ZVOLs when looking for snapshot tasks, see issue #10.

Installation instructions are available on Github.
